Conference: The Effects
of Climate Change in the Wine Industry
Pancho
Campo is the founder and President of The Wine Academy of
Spain. Official instructor for the WSET as well as Recommended
Tutor for this important British organization. Pancho has
taught for the prestigious Wine MBA in Bordeaux and is an
Official SherryEducator. He is also the founder of the Barcelona
Wine Festival, Madwine and the World Meeting on Climate Change
and Wine.
Pancho has been trained at the world famous University of
California at Davis, in Bordeaux, UK, Spain and Austria. He
is a candidate to become the first Spanish *Master of Wine*
after obtaining a conditional pass in his theory and practical
exams; he is awaiting the results of his dissertation. Pancho
has become one of the most respected authorities in the research
of climate change and its impacts in the wine industry who
has conducted seminars and speeches in Sonoma, San francisco,
Los Angeles, Seattle, Bordeaux, London, Vancouver, Barcelona,
Madrid, Copenhagen, and Puerto Rico just to mention a few
locations.
One of the objectives of this conference is to promote the
II World Meeting on Climate Change and Wine that the Wine
Academy of Spain is organizing in Barcelona on February 15
and 16, 2008. The event features an special appearance by
Vicepresident Al Gore. Other relevant speakers are: Michel
Rolland, Ernst Loosen, Jacques Lurton, Richard Smart, Miguel
Torres, Greg Jones and Hans Schultz, amongst many other scientists
and experts.
During this seminar, Gloria Ferrer, The Wine Academy
of Spain, and Freixenet will give away 4 VIP invitations to

Presented by Rick Garced, President of the
United States Sommelier Association, this seminar will challenge
intermediate and advanced wine lovers to put their noses and
tasting buds to the test as they try to identify the 6 extraordinary
wines selected for this seminar. Rick and other renowned
experts will walk the audience through the evaluation process
and technique required to successfully determine the main
varietals, regions of origin, vintage and other characteristics
of the wines served. An exclusive seminar never before
featured in South Florida “Mastering the Art of Blind

Appreciation
A selection of our exhibitors’ best

regions and prices will be disclosed one by one at the seminar
in order to better guide wine lovers through the wine appreciation
process without influencing their learning experience. UM
Professor and FIWC Tasting Board member Dr. Steve Stein
will challenge attending wine lovers to participate in a collective
